This Moroccan azilal rug was made by a woman of the Berber tribes in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco.
This is a delicately colorful azilal rug which was made in the snowy mountains of the High Atlas where temperatures can get very low, that is why it is fluffy and warm, a paradise for your feet 💫
Often, Berber women draw meaningful symbols on their rugs either to protect their family, bring happiness to their home or as a tribute to nature…
azilal rugs are made from virgin raw wool by alternating composed patterns of one single knotted line and one or two woven lines, according to a cultural ritual that mothers are passing down to daughters for generations.
This rug is unique and is entirely handmade out of natural wool tinted thanks to natural organic dye which makes it very soft and easy-care.
